Barbara's Bio
Barbara Stanton is a renowned and internationally celebrated artist specializing in miniature paintings and life drawings, Barbara has been crafting her art for over five decades. Her exceptional portraiture skills led her to paint the mural “Pioneer Founders of Pleasanton” for the City of Pleasanton, which was completed in 2014. In 2016, Barbara made history as the first American artist to grace the Australian TV show “Colour in Your Life.”
Barbara has resided in Livermore for over four decades. She is an active member of the local art community, serving as a long-time member of the Livermore Art Association (LAA) and holding the position of publicity chair for several years. Additionally, she held the esteemed role of Gallery Director for the LAA Gallery in the Carnegie Building downtown for five years. After retiring from teaching private art classes for approximately 25 years, Barbara currently organizes the Figure Drawing workshop every Friday at Livermore’s Bothwell Arts Center. Furthermore, she conducts numerous workshops and demonstrations for California art groups and has served as a juror for several local art shows. She is a signature member of MAA (Miniature Artists of America), IGMA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans), MPSGS (Miniature Painters, Sculptures and Gravers Society), CPA (Cider Painters of America), and the Hilliard Society.
Barbara’s passion for art led her to establish the Essential Figure Show, a platform that aims to showcase the work of local artists who face challenges in exhibiting their nudes in most art shows in the area. She has been the chairperson of the show every year since its inception, and 2026 marks its 17th remarkable year. The show has garnered immense popularity and has become a cherished event in the art community.
